These flags are basically the bicycle flag pole that we used as kids for our bikes with a few exceptions:
- the poles separate in half which I love
- the flags are a nylon fabric and not plastic
- the pole tips are pointed
I use these for weekly training sessions and daily summer camps for K-8th school kids. With these 10 flags and a set of 10 cones I can set up almost any type of training session US Soccer has for this age group. I have a typical fabric fold-up chair with shoulder bag that I put these AND my chair in for easy carrying. I also use these for the corner flags for our games because they are so portable.
Using these seems to make a difference in the players attitude for some reason. When they come out to the field and see everything set up, the first thing out of their mouth is What are doing today?, usually with enthusiasm. My first year of coaching was without cones or flags, boy was that tough.
I will say that I find myself needing 2 more flags quite often for some reason, but for now I just use some extra cones. Ill probably pick up 2 more flags before next season because of that. |

Love it |
As a Soccer trainer, I use these about 5-6 days a week. I absolutely love it. I bought my first set about 2 years ago and recently bought my second set. Ive had kids kick them, free kicks hit them, and have been overall abused yet they have ALL kept in great shape. For the price $30 and the number you get 10 they are great. They come apart in the middle for easy storage, it is pointed end at the bottom to stick into most grass surfaces not turf or concrete obviously. The picture shows the first generation poles that had rigid plastic like flag, the new generation features a soft fabric that is more like a flag. The only worry I ever have with these is when kids are handling them, the pointed end can probably hurt someone if they are not careful. Lastly, the only area Ive ever struggled with these poles is when they get wet, if water gets into the connecting joint it makes pulling them apart a bit tough. The versatility, price, and durability of this product is unmatched. Best out there. |
